CFA Society Boston Board of Directors Nominations 2024-2025

Summary

The CFA Society Boston Nominating Committee is actively seeking nominations for the 2024-2025 Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is the governing body of the organization, responsible for strategic planning and fiduciary oversight of CFA Society Boston. The Board of Directors is led by the Chair of the Board and is supported by the CFA Society Boston staff.

In 2022, the Board of Directors approved a strategic plan that focuses on three key areas:

• Professional Development
• Community engagement
• Diversity and Inclusion

In order to support the goals of the strategic plan, CFA Society Boston and its nominating committee are looking for candidates who can contribute to these objectives. Some key objectives for the 2024 - 2025 Board year will subject matter experts in Private Wealth and FinTech (AI, Blockchain, Crypto, DeFi). The Nominating Committee also encourages diverse candidates and young/emerging leaders to consider applying.  

Key Responsibilities

• Set the strategy for the organization
• Oversee the chief staff officer
• Attend quarterly board meetings
• Create best practice policies
• Participate in board committees
• Promote the organization externally
• Help with speaker connections
• Provide fiduciary oversight
• Sponsor and attend Society programming and events
• Other duties as required

Time Commitment

The Board of Directors meets for 2 hours every quarter. Board members are expected to sit on 1-2 board committees, which will require a minimum monthly commitment of 2 hours. Board members are expected to communicate through the CFA Society Boston social platform, Connect.

• 1 Secretary
• 1 Treasurer
• 1 Chair of Education and Programs

Qualifications

• Must be a regular member of CFA Society Boston in good standing
• 3-5 years industry experience
• Diverse candidates encouraged to apply
