Society Bylaws Amendments Notification

April 19, 2022

On April 7, 2022, the CFA Society Boston Board of Directors unanimously approved a motion to amend the Society Bylaws to streamline the membership and renewal processes for Regular, Affiliate and Student members, all while adhering to membership requirements as defined in the society bylaws. These changes also allow the Nominations Committee to be more strategic in identifying candidates to serve on the Board of Directors. To see the bylaws with redlined changes clicker here. Now Accepting Applications for CFA Candidate Scholarship Program

April 6, 2021

CFA Society Boston is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for our CFA Candidate Scholarship program. The society will award up to three scholarships to CFA Exam candidates registered for either the August or November 2022 exam cycles. Each scholarship includes reimbursement for CFA exam fees, up to 1,450USD for enrollment and/or registration fee(s), and a Kaplan Schweser Premium Course (valued at 999USD). Candidates of diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

CFA Society Boston and Boston Based Firms Some of the First Signatory Organizations to New CFA Institute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Code for the Investment Profession in US and Canada

CFA Society Boston, New England’s largest membership organization for investment professionals, today announces that the Society and Boston based firms Cambridge Associates, GMO, MassPRIM, and Payden & Rygel are part of the 16 organizations that have become inaugural signatories to the newly launched voluntary CFA Institute Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Code for the Investment Profession in the United States and Canada (“DEI Code”).

Leaders and members of CFA Society Boston served in integral roles as part of the CFA Institute working group that developed the DEI Code. The DEI Code aims to foster commitment from institutions to DEI action that will lead to greater inclusion of wider viewpoints from the best talent, which will lead to better investment outcomes, help create better working environments, and generate a cycle of positive change for future generations.  DEI is a core pillar of CFA Society Boston’s strategic plan and our commitment represents the desire of the society and the local investment management community to make real progress as it relates to DEI. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Code Launched

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are crucial elements in the future of the investment industry and the success of investment firms. CFA Society Boston and CFA Institute recognize that a diversity of perspectives will lead to better investor outcomes; an inclusive investment industry will better serve our diverse society.

To help ensure these critical initiatives, CFA Institute has developed the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Code for the Investment Profession in the United States and Canada ("DEI Code"). Leaders and members of CFA Society Boston participated in the CFA Institute working group to develop this voluntary code to guide DEI. Each year, CFA Society Boston hires a qualified team of question writers to create the CFA Society Boston practice exam. The practice exam is based on the 2022 Body of Knowledge and questions are organized by subject matter. The society offers Level I and Level II Practice Exams for purchase. Your purchase of the Practice Exam includes access for 6-months to the CFA Society Boston online Test Bank, which includes questions and answers from the past three versions of the Practice Exam. 2022 Undergrad Women’s Internship Program

CFA Society Boston is excited to launch the 2022 Undergrad Women’s Internship Program. This year the society has partnered with six highly respected Boston-Based firms to offer a variety of investment management internships for the summer of 2022. The Mission of the CFA Society Boston Undergrad Women’s Internship Program is to educate college-aged women on opportunities in investment management through internships. To place qualified women in summer internships at leading investment management firms that are focused on diversity & inclusion initiatives.

Call for Board Nominations

Each year, in accordance with our by-laws, CFA Society Boston members elect new officers and directors to serve on CFA Society Boston's Board of Directors. CFA Society Boston's Nominating Committee collects and vets the slate of candidates for consideration and presents it to the full membership for a vote at the Annual Meeting each June. The Nominating Committee strives to build a talented and diverse slate of nominees by assessing candidates' backgrounds, professional experience and volunteer participation — both at CFA Society Boston and in other roles.  We look at current industry trends and try to identify individuals who match those trends. CFA Institute, the global association of investment management professionals, released the fourth edition of its trust survey, Earning Investors’ Trust: How the Desire for Information, Innovation, and Influence is Shaping Client Relationships. The survey measured the opinions of both retail and institutional investors in 15 markets globally.
